There are many organizations that invest in training for their board members, senior management, and leaders. While I commend them for beginning their organization reconciliation journey, I really want to take a moment to recognize Alfred Achoba and Gina Dillon for their determination to have all the staff at Canadian Mental Health Association Kamloops Branch attend the History of Canada from an Indigenous perspective and Cultural Safety training.
We began this journey on October 3. To provide this understanding of the truth and some tools to create a safe space for clients to heal to their frontline workers is to be commended. It’s inspiring to see the continued determination of organizations in our community to keep raising the bar. Remember, we heal when we walk together.
