As a proud member of the Skeetchestn Indian Band, it is my honour to welcome you to the unceded, ancestral territory of the Secwepemcúl̓ecw. I invite you to connect with the land around you. Pay attention to its beauty, its gifts, and its quiet wisdom. As you enjoy the fruits of this territory, I encourage you to embrace the responsibility of leaving it better than you found it. We are all stewards of this land, and our actions today shape the stories we will tell tomorrow.
HEALING BETWEEN WORLDS

Through lived experience, Ryan shares his unique story of being a functioning addict for 30+ years and his attempts to fit into society for nearly five decades to help others find their healing path, teach about Canada’s history through an Indigenous lens and Truth and Reconciliation, and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), plus share his journey through addiction to wellness and recovery.
MEET RYAN
32 years of being a functioning addict, 49 years of trying to fit into society, and a lifelong struggle to understand the inner battle of being both an Indigenous person and a British settler in Canada, Ryan Deneault's upbringing was a constant battle of not fitting in.
As a mixed-race individual, he never felt at home in either of the worlds he straddled. Apart from inner struggles, he also battled addiction but managed to keep up appearances. Today, Ryan's unique journey is the foundation for Healing Between Worlds.
